UTTRAKHAND

Vijay Bahuguna, ex-Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, who had last year joined BJP along with nine rebel MLAs of Congress, today said that if Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) comes to power in the state, then it will order an inquiry into current CM Harish Rawat’s corruption.
When the press asked Vijay Bahuguna about Rawat’s corruption allegations upon him, the BJP leader replied that” Rawat is a CM and if he has a corruption proof against me then he should have ordered an inquiry into it.” Harish Rawat is contesting from two seats in the upcoming polls and on this Bahuguna stated that he is not confident of his victory and that is why he opted to contest from two assembly seats; he also added that Rawat is scared and it is clearly visible.
According to Hindustan Times, the former CM of Uttarakhand also took potshots at Rawat for various schemes laid out for the hilly region saying that Rawat made many announcements without any support and this will certainly push him on the back foot.
Bahuguna, early in 2017, had sent a legal notice to Rawat and Surendra Kumar (Rawat’s media advisor) demanding an apology for accusing him and his family for promoting a foreign company.
When asked about BJP trying to topple the Rawat government last year by imposing a President rule, Bahuguna thrashed the question by stating that President’s rule has been imposed 112 times and out of 112 times; 100 times was imposed under the rule of Congress.
